This project’s major design challenge was creating an experience that showcased over thirty pieces of content without the site feeling overwhelming or boring to the user. To minimize superfluous interactions, my Creative Director and I decided the entire site should be explorable by scrolling. The content was then divided into three main sections, and I wireframed the basic layout and user-flow.
After establishing the user flow and general site layout, I worked on designing the navigation. The design evolved from a menu in which the navigational elements and thumbnails were housed within a sidebar, to a floating menu with four buttons. One button for each section and one to open a menu overlay that would allow the user to jump to different pieces of content within that section.
Early versions of the navigation design, and the final version.
